The 1st Generation Suzuki Carry was introduced in 1979. The 1979 Suzuki Carry is a mid-engine front. Four wheel drive mini MPV. The exterior of the 1979 Suzuki Carry features a fairly boxy and minimalistic design language. The flat front fascia features square headlights surrounded by a black trim piece that incorporates into the design of the rectangular styled black grille, rectangular fog lights integrated into the black bumper. The rear end of the Suzuki Carry features rectangular stacked taillights with a black bumper. The pickup truck versions features the exact same styling on the front fascia but features rectangular styled horizontal taillights and a standard case flatbed. The overall exterior of the 1st Generation Suzuki Carry is very tall, square and fairly van like.


The interior of the 1st Generation Suzuki Carry features the use of gray tone plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in vinyl and are able to accommodate 7 people. Options include air conditioning and fabric seat upholstery. All aspects of the Suzuki Carry limited interior controls are finished in black plastic and operated manually. The overall interior of the 1979 Suzuki Carry features a good amount of interior space considering the mini MPV,s decent exterior dimensions.
