Jaguar X-Type was a compact executive car manufactured and marketed by Jaguar Cars from 2001 to 2009 in a single generation under the internal designation X400. Manufactured at the Halewood Assembly Facility near Liverpool,[1] the X-Type was developed during Jaguar's tenure in thePremier Automotive Group (PAG) of Ford Motor Company — and was based on a modified version of the Ford CD132 platform. The smallest of the Jaguar model range, the X-Type was marketed in sedan/saloon and wagon/estate variants, and was the firstestate manufactured in series production by the company.
