Harley Davidson V Rod - A Muscle Bike! Harley Davidson V Rod info - The Harley Davidson V Rod was first introduced in 2001. It was the first model of a V Twin Racing Street Custom (VRSC) range, which was developed to contend with the other American and Japanese ‘muscle’ motorcycles. The Harley Davidson V Rod boasted the Revolution engine (60 degree V twin) with fuel injection, liquid cooling and dual overhead cams. The Harley Davidson Revolution engine was made with the assistance of Porsche and can be identified by its 60 degree V twin, hydro formed frame members and radiator. The Harley Davidson V Rod is also identifiable by its fuel tank, as it is located under the seat unlike all other Harley Davidson motorcycles (which are in front of the seat). All VRSC motorcycles are built at Harley Davidson’s operations facility in Blue Springs, Kansas City, Missouri.
