The 2nd Generation Toyota Prius was introduced in 2003. The 2nd Generation Prius is a front engine front wheel drive hybrid electric mid-size hatchback, developed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation. Production of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius lasted for seven years.Toyota halted the production of the second generation in 2009. The Toyota Prius was available in 2 variants S and G. The price of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius was fairly competitive when compared to other models in the same class available in the local market.

The front end houses upswept trapezium headlights, a small grille, a rectangular air intake and standard circular fog lights. Standard features on the S include 2 airbags, automatic climate control, power windows, power steering, heated and power door mirrors, multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry, traction control and a speaker stereo system. Features on the higher end G variant include cruise control, leather upholstery as standard and push button start. Options include auto-dimming rearview mirror, satellite navigation, 6-speaker stereo speaker system, leather upholstery and heated front seats. The overall interior of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius is fairly spacious in both the front and rear considering the exterior dimensions of the liftback, it also offers a decent level of comfort and interior refinement.
