Toyota Ractis Overview

The 1st Generation Toyota Ractis was introduced in 2005. The 2005 Toyota Ractis is a front engine front/four wheel drive mini MPV. The Toyota Ractis 1st Generation was based on the Toyota Yaris platform and was introduced to replace the MPV variant of the Toyota Yaris the Toyota Yaris Verso. Production of the 1st Generation Toyota Ractis lasted for 6 years, the Toyota Ractis was available to purchase in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and the year 2010. The Toyota Ractis 2005 was available in variants X, XL, G, GL and GS. The price of the Toyota Ractis 2005 was fairly competitive when compared to other cars in the same class available in the local market.


The 1st Generation Toyota Ractis features a fairly unique but minimalistic design language. The front end houses triangular styled upswept headlights, an angular trapezium shaped grille with a chrome accent, dual long slim narrow intakes and an outward sticking curved bumper. The rear end houses stacked vertical rectangular styled side swept taillights, the rear window wiper, an outward sticking bumper and a standard case hatchback. All variants of the Toyota Ractis feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the 2005 Toyota Ractis features familiar styling for a Japanese designed mini MPV.


The interior of the 2005 Toyota Ractis features the use of gray plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features include power steering, power lock doors, power mirrors, power windows, air conditioning, tachometer, trip computer, a digital instrument cluster and a 4-speaker stereo audio system. Features on the higher end G and GL model include automatic climate control. Features on the highest end GS model include leather upholstery. Options include satellite navigation, reversing camera and parking sensors. The overall interior of the 1st Generation Toyota Ractis features a good amount of interior space for a mini MPV of its exterior dimensions.
