Exterior
The exterior of the 2nd Generation Mercedes C-Class features a unique design language. The front fascia features dual circle shaped headlights, a trapezium shaped grille with horizontal chrome bars running its length, a standard front bumper with a rectangular air intake and standard circular fog lights. The rear end features triangle styled side swept taillights, a chrome bar running across the trunk lid and a standard rear bumper. The 4-door sedan features identical styling apart from being slightly longer to accommodate the rear doors. The 5-door station wagon features identical styling to the 4-door sedan from the front but in the rear end, it houses a slightly sloping roof line and a standard case tailgate. The C55 AMG and C32 AMG featured a slightly more sporty and aggressive design language. The front end houses a larger chrome grille, a larger front bumper with a trapezium air intake flanked by larger dual intakes, the sides feature side skirts. The rear end houses a sports exhaust system a larger rear bumper and rear diffuser. The facelift variant of the Mercedes C-Class featured a slight update in design language. The overall exterior of the 2nd Generation Mercedes C-Class features a fairly distinctive design language that allows it to differentiate itself from its rivals.
Interior
The interior of the 2nd Generation Mercedes C-Class compromises the use of black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard options include power windows, power steering, cup holders, multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, a 4-speaker stereo system with AUX and CD input, dual front airbags and a tachometer. Features on the Luxury variant includes memory seats as standard, auto tilt-away steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror as standard, rear side impact airbags with different tires. Options include satellite navigation, leather upholstery, climate control, electric seats, memory seats and heated seats.
