“A Well Kept Honda Civic Reborn Is A Treat To Drive” – Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2011 Honda Civic Oriel, eminently known as Honda Civic Reborn. This particular car is the top-of-the-line Oriel UG variant with leather seats. The reborn came with a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine known as the R18, which came in the 9th and 10t gen Civic as well; it produces around 140hp and 174Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. This car is in a pretty clean condition; let’s learn more about its owner’s experience.
Purchase Decision
The owner bought this car two years back; at that time, he was looking for a 9th gen Civic, but he couldn’t find vehicles in good condition in his budget. So he decided to buy the 8th gen Civic to get a well-kept car for the same amount of money. He bought the car when it was driven only 62000 kilometers and was in very good condition for Rs. 18.5 lac rupees.
Salient Features
The Civic Reborn has many features, including leather seats, a navigation screen, a multi-tier instrument cluster with a digital speedometer, a sunroof, retractable side mirrors, ABS brakes, dual airbags, cruise control, etc.
Fuel Average
According to the owner, this generation of Civic is wrongly labeled as a gas guzzler. In his opinion, if the car is timely maintained, its fuel average is not bad. He gets an average of 10 km/l within the city with AC which he is satisfied with. Moreover, on highways, the fuel average increases exuberantly.
Ground Clearance
The ground clearance of Civics is not the feature it is best known for. The owner says the car is low and hits the ground on speed breakers and potholes. He even shared an experience where his silencer rubber was damaged after scraping the ground on the wrong road.
Known Issues
As per the owner, only one known issue in his knowledge comes with its steering rack. The Civic Reborn comes with a hydraulic power steering, and there are many known experiences of it getting hard and issues with the power steering pump.
Maintenance
The owner is very particular about the car’s maintenance. He changes the engine oil every 4000 kilometers along with filters which costs him around Rs. 10,000. The average maintenance cost is about Rs. 2.5/ kilometer which is very high.
Spare Parts
The parts are readily available in local markets across the country. As per the owner, there are several qualities available of parts, including genuine Japanese parts, used and even Taiwanese parts. The price, however, of genuine parts is very high compared to used components.
