Car or Bike Breaks Down? Lahore Police Introduces Roadside Mobile Workshop

15

The Lahore Traffic Police has launched a new Mobile Workshop service to assist citizens facing vehicle breakdowns on the road. The facility is currently limited to Mall Road, but it will soon expand to other areas of Lahore and be available daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, as reported to us by reliable sources.

How the Mobile Workshop Works

Each mobile workshop unit consists of two officials, one traffic police officer and one mechanic. Together, they provide immediate roadside assistance.

Citizens whose cars or motorcycles stop working can simply call 15, after which the mobile workshop will be dispatched to their location.

Quick Fixes for Common Breakdowns

Officials stated that the service is designed to handle basic repairs that allow vehicles to reach a proper workshop. This includes:

  • Repairing punctures
  • Fixing battery breakdowns
  • Spark plug breakdowns
  • Restarting cars that refuse to start

The goal is not full-scale repairs on the spot, but to make the vehicle roadworthy enough to reach a mechanic’s shop safely.

Equipped with an Emergency Kit

Each mobile workshop also carries an emergency kit, which includes a first aid box and a fire extinguisher.

This ensures that in case of accidents, minor injuries, or fire hazards, immediate help can be provided until further assistance arrives.

Purpose of the Initiative

The initiative aims to provide timely relief to citizens, especially in high-traffic zones where vehicle breakdowns often cause congestion. By offering quick roadside help, the Traffic Police hopes to reduce the inconvenience for drivers.
