Karachi, October 2025 — On October 11th, we reported that the Changan Deepal K50 Hunter was spotted in Pakistan during off-road testing. Today, the Deepal K50 Hunter has been spotted once again, this time in an urban area of Karachi, indicating that local testing for the range-extended electric pickup is now underway.

Regarding the K50 truck itself, it uses a REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) powertrain. In this setup, the wheels are powered solely by electric motors, while the petrol engine functions purely as a generator to recharge the battery. There’s no direct connection between the engine and the wheels. Essentially, it operates like an EV, but with its own onboard power plant.

On paper, the Deepal K50 Hunter produces around 268 HP and 472 Nm of torque, based on the Thailand variant. If launched, the K50 Hunter would become Pakistan’s first REEV pickup, promising instant torque, low emissions, and versatile off-road capability.

For now, Changan has yet to announce pricing or launch details, but with the K50 already out on local roads, the wait might not be long.
