Lahore: Getting or renewing a driving licence in Punjab just got easier! On October 21, 2025, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Punjab’s first-ever Mobile Police Station and Licensing Unit in Lahore, marking a major step toward making public services more accessible.

This initiative aims to improve public access to essential police and licensing services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

Key Services Offered by Punjab’s Mobile Police Stations

FIR Registration

Citizens can now register FIRs directly at mobile police units, eliminating the need to visit traditional police stations. This initiative brings greater accessibility, transparency, and convenience to communities across Punjab.

Driving Licence Services

The mobile stations are equipped to handle all driving licence-related services, including the issuance and renewal of learner, regular, international, and women-specific licences — streamlining the entire process for citizens.

Targeted Outreach

These units will also operate at girls’ educational institutions and workplaces, ensuring women and students can access essential policing and licensing services safely and efficiently.

Deployment Across Punjab

The Punjab government plans to deploy 33 Mobile Police Stations across the province. Among them, seven “Pink” units will be staffed entirely by female officers to create a comfortable, inclusive, and secure environment for women.
The public itinerary for the Mobile Police Station and Licensing Units in Punjab would likely be released to inform residents of the specific locations and times when the mobile units will be available in their areas.

During the inauguration, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif inspected the mobile unit, handed over the keys to the relevant officers, and emphasized the importance of maintaining a compassionate, citizen-friendly approach to service delivery.

According to officials, these mobile units will also visit girls’ educational institutions, workplaces, and remote areas, helping citizens save time and effort by delivering services at their doorstep.

Conclusion:

This initiative marks a significant step toward improving accessibility to crucial services in Punjab. The focus on female-friendly services, as seen in the “Pink” Mobile Police Stations, further highlights the government’s commitment to security for all citizens.
