In interesting news, the Sindh government has announced bike riding lessons for female students of government colleges.

The College Education Department has asked the government colleges for a list of female students who wish to learn bike riding, according to media reports. The department plans on collaborating with the Sindh Women’s Development department to give proper bike riding lessons to female students.

It is an initiative to make the young girls independent and arrange affordable conveyance means for them.

In a similar plan two months prior, the Punjab government proposed giving electric bikes to female educators in public schools across the region. A media report expressed that the administration recommended it as a pilot project for the new budget plan.

The proposition pitched the Department of School Education to manage every part of the task, which will just offer electric bikes to female teachers working in government schools. This won’t just make transport helpful for them; it will likewise diminish fuel costs. This drive is yet to witness a significant development as the government tries to fight inflationary worries.

A similar initiative was taken by the Punjab Police back in 2014 to teach women bike riding. Proper bike riding lessons were imparted by trained female police officers to willing women.
