For crossover and SUV lover, HAVAL H6 is more than a vehicle. It’s a brand under the umbrella of Great Wall Motors (GWM) from China. Once China’s famous SUV is still making waves in Pakistani local market with its petrol and hybrid offerings.

Among its lineup, the Haval H6 stands out as a popular choice. And now, there’s exciting news for enthusiasts as the company is unveiling the vehicle next week with an aim to commence it at the end of this year.

Expected Changes

Dimension

The current Haval H6, part of the C-segment, has been around since 2020. But now, it’s to get a new look. The latest teaser released by the company gives us a glimpse of what to expect: a fresh design and some changes in dimensions. The most noticeable change is the increase in length by 50 mm, now measuring at 4703 mm.

Design Language

One of the significant alterations is the revamped front design. Last year, the grille underwent a transformation, opting for a more enclosed look. However, this year, the large grille makes a comeback, accompanied by striking light strips extending from the headlights. At the rear, the through strip lights are replaced with a more traditional light cluster arrangement.

Power

In terms of performance, the powertrains are expected to remain largely unchanged. Customers can still expect the choice between a 1.5T engine with 135 kW power paired with a 7-speed wet dual clutch gearbox or a 170 kW 2.0T with a 7-speed dual clutch unit. Additionally, hybrid and PHEV versions might also be available.

The Haval H6 has been a success story in China, ranking as the sixth best-selling SUV in 2023 with impressive sales figures. With this facelift, Great Wall Motors aims to maintain its momentum in the market. Export plans are also on the horizon, with the Haval H6 being sold in various developing markets in Asia, South Africa, and Australia.

No need. Like the pervious facelift of the H6, this one will most probably be only for China again. The version that we have in Pakistan is the one Haval still sells in the international market and is up-to-date.

But I get your point. It is something I fear as well. When the actual 4th gen of the Haval H6 arrives, what then? Will we get the new one at the same time as the international market?
The I hope the people who introduced these new brands don’t follow the trend set by the Japanese brands in Pakistan and make this country the dumping ground for their obsolete stock for an effortless, quick and easy profit. Here’s hoping the new comers do things differently. I also hope these new brands, especially the ones from China, target exports aggressively and set the standards for exports from Pakistan.
The Japanese and the Korean export markets are well catered for around the region. Our growth opportunity lies with the Chinese brands. Here hoping for the best. 👍

You are not wise, i warn you if you don’t know international car market don’t talk

Well many other rich car’s market were GMW is on sale
And i must not forget you are always implying what the article didn’t imply
But we are not surprise by you anymore

At this point, you are just implying and speculating. And your “point” about the Haval Xiaolong Max SUV… What are you on about? NO! those are two different products. Its like saying the Yaris is close to the Corolla in looks; so its the same thing. 🤔🤷‍♂️😕 Where are you going with that?! Confused much?! 🤣😕😕

But thank you for making my point. Eventually, the international markets WILL get an update, especially in those countries like Australia, where these are selling well. Maybe it will be this facelift or the actual new 4th gen of the H6; Who knows. All I was saying was we will know then if they will update the models in Pakistan accordingly or do in Pakistan what the Japanese brands have been doing for decades; selling old models rather than keeping the models in Pakistan current with international markets. Only time will tell…

And the rest, Yeah! I hope the new car brands in Pakistan change the decades old approach of selling/dumping old crap in Pakistan like our dear old Japani three with no emphasis on exports what so ever and rather trying to stop imports. A simple thing that is part of any country’s international trade charter. It is my hope that the new companies will set a good example and not hurt the nation for their own greed.
From an “un-wise person who does not understand markets” to a genius like yourself who is “well versed in everything” 🙄, Isn’t that a good thing to wish for, for our country?! 🤷‍♂️

So now you are emiting doubt on Haval,
Glad you are progressing, but still half in the way, it don’t even look like you
My point is the current generation of haval H6 in our country is here to stay an become obsolete, when other country will get the new one, is a realistic assumption ( don’t mix everything)

‘I hope the new car brands in Pakistan change the decades old approach of selling/dumping old’

    Bro a reality check :

Australia population 28 millions cars sales 1.2Million/year
Pakistan population 240 millions cars sales 100 000/year

Thus don’t ask for what rich country can get, and take into consideration our affordability and market level

  6. Ali Khan says

    @waqas
Take it easy bro. Breath! 😄

You are assuming that that WILL happen. I do agree that, taking into account the business acumen of our business community, or lack thereof (e.g. the old Japanese three who much rather sue the country than actually do business the way they do it in other countries), there is a good chance of these new brands stagnating their current models in Pakistan. You know, a “Monkey see, monkey do” type of situation. But still, Lets give them the benefit of the doubt here. Lets wait and see if they actually do that.

Polarizing opinions is NOT progress! Lets take the middle ground. Lets take it slow and see what they do. AND let us hope for the best. Hope is good don’t you think?

“Thus don’t ask for what rich country can get, and take into consideration our affordability and market level”
And yet we are paying more for the old models here with local assembly than those countries are paying for new models as imports. 🤔😕
