Crossovers are for sure on the go!

Haval Jolion HEV is a unique blend of performance, capacity, and bold aesthetics. Sazgar Engineering has come up with another great option for urban commuters and weekend adventurers, offering safety, practicality, and an obvious touch of technology. Let’s delve into the first driving experience of the Jolion hybrid to keep our readers informed about this new compact crossover in town.

Haval Jolion HEV– Overview

The gasoline version of Jolion was launched last August, this time the local manufacturer has introduced its hybrid variant with overall same specs and features but with an instant torque hybrid technology. This HEV can also be considered as a minor facelift of the former Jolion petrol variant.

Exterior

It has a 2700mm wheelbase and a bold fascia featuring a diamond front grille, modern DRLs, and headlights paired with blue accents, emphasizing its hybrid technology. The ‘cooler’ effect is further emphasized with its animated welcoming gesture, which you will receive as soon as you switch on this machine.

Its side profile is enhanced with a blue-colored HEV badging, prominent rims, and a shark fin antenna. However, the rear profile gives you a bold effect with an aerodynamic spoiler, an aggressive diffuser, and a manually operated tailgate.

Under the Hood

Jolion has a non-turbo engine that can successfully produce 380Nm of torque and 190bhp of power. This instant torque technology is paired with a DHT transmission, referring to Direct Hybrid Technology, which in no way doesn’t underpower this crossover. With a 2-speed transmission and quick torque, the Jolion seems extremely nimble on its feet and gives an effortless drive.

Haval Joilion HEV Interior

Haval has a characteristic premium feel, which it has kept constant among all its models with minimalistic philosophy and upgraded upholstery. Its interior is all-black and will soon be introduced in a brown color too. Besides, the overall cabin is spacious with decent legroom and headroom, along with a 337L trunk capacity.

Furthermore, it comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, heads-up display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a friendly interface, a 7-inch colored instrument panel, a wireless charger, a dial-style gear knob, and a panoramic sunroof.

Jolion and all the other models from HAVAL have got 5-star ANCAP ratings, which proclaims their safety above other models available in the country. It also features Lane Centering, Lane Keep, 6 Airbags, and other safety features.

Mileage and Price

The company claims that Jolion offers a 21km/L fuel average, which seems quite decent for a crossover of this size.

Through the expanded Haval line-up, the OEM aims to upgrade the driving experience of Pakistani drivers by providing all the features available in international models. This comes with a price tag, too. For that, the Haval Jolion comes at Rs. 9.3 million ex-factory price with a booking price starting from Rs. 1.8 million.

To me, Haval is a new exploration and is going with leaps and bounds and has left all others miles behind. Chinese brands have come a long way in terms mechanics and electronics as depicted in Haval. As of now, Haval is ruling and all others have to come out complacency element and has to really put in something to compete, especially new entrants like KIa and Hyundai who has raised prices to an insane level and spare parts even higher. It’s high time that Haval also need to put some thought to decease price to increase sales and grasp market with some lowering in profit rates.
