“Ferrari Look-a-Like” Toyota Crown Sport SUV – First Look Review

After years of appealing to riders with a laid-back look, the Toyota Crown has resurfaced with a new design philosophy that has blurred the lines between a crossover and a sedan. With an exterior greatly inspired by the Ferrari FUV Purosangue and an interior reflecting the minimalist style of Lexus, this Crown is made for those who wish to avoid complexities and prefer comfort and affordability.

Toyota Crown Sport SUV – Exterior

Since the demand for SUVs has surged for the last couple of years, Toyota’s luxury line-up, Crown, decided to transform its ground-hugged styling to a ground-raised crossover body shape. It is the first sports SUV style launched in 2023 as a Crown flagship model for the year with an aggressive facade and a sporty rear end.

Despite having a traditional side profile, the front DRLs and rear CROWN badging seem to be the most attractive part. The one we reviewed was a fine dual-tone hatchback with single-beam headlights, 21-inch wheels, and classy character lines.

Interior

Its interior comes in a chestnut theme paired with a piano black touch. Other features are the same as those found in a Toyota Lexus. It has a good boot space, a 12.3-inch head-up display, a cluster panel, auto boot, a boss seat, heated and ventilated seats with memory function, and lumbar support. Its large panoramic sunroof is unique and contributes to keeping the cabin soundproof.

Other features include dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, telescopic steering, and a deep boot. However, the rear spacing seems a bit compromised.

Safety

This time, Toyota aced the Crown by loading it with safety features. Having functions of radar, adaptive cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, lane keep, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, attention assist, and whatnot!

With a 2.5L Hybrid engine, this car never feels underpowered, but if you are a speed craver, you can choose another option available in turbocharge specs. Priced at 45 million, the Toyota Crown will become the choice for those who believe in the value of JDMs.
