As per Pakwheels which obviously shared by Sazgar Engineering, “The car comes with a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder petrol hybrid system generating 258 Kw (346hp) and 658 Nm of torque”.
while Main GWM mentions two models of 2.0 and 3.0 turbocharged with 180kw/380 Nm and 265kw/500Nm.
Did GWM modify the engine for the Pakistani Market?

Car body andChasis seem to be copied from Nissan Petrol

Yeah i big mistake slip in this article, i wonder i they check their article before publishing. And 45 000 000 PKR, this cars is already over priced, someone can buy 3 Kia Carnival or 3 Hyundai Santa Fe Smart.

The 2.0L Turbo engine by itself outputs 180kw/380Nm. The 258 Kw /658 Nm are the combined figures for the engine Plus hybrid system.

This 500 has the Prado beat on power. Even the Prado 4.0L version. And last I checked, that was around 9 caror for a new one (before IMC stopped taking orders).
But You are right. Who would want this in Pakistan? It is far more convenient to consider a decade old Toyota rather than go for something which offers much more tech, is bang up to date and can do pretty much what the Landcruiser can do.

The High Torque play for car acceleration, and especialy for start acceleration, but given the car weight with battery, when the battery will be empty, can you magine how much the consumption will increase ?
The engine’s stress will be higher in this 4 cylinder compared to a a V6 for a Kia Carnival for example.
Thus the durability of both engine won’t be the same, even if we are considering this 4 cylinders engine is made durable, well the price kill this car before launch, for the CHEAPER PRICE you can get a BMW X7 40 i XDRIVE for 29 000 000 PKR, with the legendary BMW’S in line 6 cylinder.

Combined means that both the combustion engine and the electric motor are running simultaneously. That means that the ICE is providing the power for the electric motor as well. It is not running off the batteries. The Corolla cross hybrid does that, the Prius does it and the new Land Cruiser hybrid does it. That is why the combined power is never the sum of power output of the combustion engine plus the electric motor. The combined output is always lower because of the power from the combustion engine which goes into powering the electric motor assist. When in off-road mode both ICE and electric are powering the vehicle. Power output is maximized at the cost of fuel consumption.

Let’s talk HP. The Prado is the “off-road king” right? No matter which version you pick, the diesel or petrol, no other does it better. Except for the bigger Land Cruiser. In the Prado we have
    2.7L petrol engine 161hp/246Nm
    2.8L Diesel engine 201hp/500Nm
    4.0L petrol engine 270hp/381Nm
The Tank 500 2.0L turbo engine alone:
    2.0L petrol engine 241hp/380Nm
The tank 500 has less HP than the 4.0L (biggest variant) of the Prado. The others, it has beat easily. In torque, only the diesel Prado has more torque than the Tank 500. AND we are talking about the petrol/diesel engines ONLY. The tank will have the advantage of pulling power from the electric motor as well. That pushes it well over the Prado. And if the 4-cylinder engines of the Prado will easily survive and are consider “the best”, why will the Tank 4-cylinder engine fail? In the second video I linked we can see that the Tank 500 (and 300) easily keep up with the land cruiser in the challenging off-road test. And speaking of the Land Cruiser, the new one is hybrid as well. So, shouldn’t the concerns that you pointed out in the case of the Tank 500 plague the Cruiser as well? or is that OK because… Land cruiser!

The only Bmw X7 40 i Xdrive 🤔 (BMW X7 xDrive40i 👍) that I saw for sale here was 7.75 Caror. You must be talking about some old model. So, thanks for proving my point in spades my friend. The prevalent mentality here is, much rather justify an old vehicle from a brand that you have heard of rather than try something new. No matter how good it might be.

    “Better the devil you know…”

I know how an HEV cars work, it dosn’t matter, when the batteries are empty, wich happens often in Motorway and Highway, were there are no electricity regeneration by breaking, is the ICE engine providing energy to run the cars, and the heavier the car is the higher the consumption is, is physics
This car bear his name well Tank, and it wasn’t such a bad car for a large SUV we don’t have many models in Pakistan only Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, and Toyota Land Cruiser and this one is cheaper than Land Cruiser J300
And is offering and HEV engine for a large SUV but overpriced
And BMW X7 you don’t know but there is only one generation thus they are no old BMW X7 and the price i mentioned are the one you can check in Pakwheels brand new cars price list not second hand, were you once told me to check prices for new car remember ?
And BMW X7 is a better car than this Great Wall Motors Tank 500

“I know how an HEV cars work, it doesn’t matter, when the batteries are empty, which happens often in Motorway and Highway, were there are no electricity regeneration by breaking, ”

Buddy, regen. breaking is not the only way the batteries in a hybrid vehicle are recharged. When the batteries are drained, the combustion engine automatically kicks in to power the vehicle and recharge the batteries. If the vehicle is traveling on straight roads such as motorways on long journeys, the power will shift between ICE and electric depending on whether the batteries have sufficient charge/sufficiently recharged and whether the vehicle can easily maintain its speed by going electric only. That is why hybrid vehicles’ motorway mileage suffers. Because the ICE has to charge the batteries and power the vehicle more often due to a small battery size, the fuel consumption goes up. That is common for all hybrids. even plugin hybrids. However, the added bonus with PHEVs is that they have bigger batteries which you can charge at home by plugging them into the wall. And bigger batteries mean a little more time on EV mode. If the batteries are fully charged, you can easily do all your daily city driving and still use electric only in PHEV.

In the Tank and the new hybrid Land cruiser and other hybrid SUVs, in power mode, both the electric motor and the ICE work together to provide maximum power, thus fuel consumption goes up as well.
