IJC goes on Thal expedition
The idea of drive through Thal desert was floated by few friends at the time of Cholistan desert Rally. The intention was to see how feasible Thal would be in case a Rally is organized here. One of the most unforgiving Rallies of Pakistan; 2012 Cholistan Rally is here
Before the advent of private media, there were motorsports events held in Pakistan but they had insignificant impact on the masses due to lack of coverage and exposure. Now though, since the media gained its freedom during the economic boom, motorsports in Pakistan have seen a bullish trend amongst the people as more and more people are inclined towards it. Internet has also played its part where Pakistan largest automotive community ‘PakWheels’ has portrayed the bright sight of motorsports amongst the masses. Apart from Extreme Autocross, Jhal Magsi Rally, there is another rally event held since a lot of time …

Maruti Suzuki teases 2014 Jimny concept
Suzuki Jimny is quite popular as a small SUV capable of reaching the same heights as Toyota Land Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Patrol, but under a good driver. It is the choice of a lot of Pakistanis who enter rallies, etc. But its price doesn’t justify its capability even than it has been popular however, the category D of the recent Jhal Magsi rally had only 1.3 Jimnys which speaks alot about it. Now though, it is time for the world to embrace an all-new Jimny, but don’t get too much excited as, Maruti Suzuki announced that it will …
What happens in Jhal, does not stays in Jhal
How do I begin this, the rally bug is addictive to say the least! Desert devil and I were remembering our words after last years rally. Yaar this track is awful, real car breaker, its too cold at night, it’s too dusty, it’s too far (return journey of 26 hours driving continuously) but we have done it, so it’s like “been there, done that”. However, it was our first and last Jhal Magsi Rally participation but, the true meaning of addiction is that the moment it was announced for this year we both said, I am going definitely. As usual …

The 1000 BHP Group B Audi that you never saw
Audi Quattro dominated the most popular motorsports’ event in the history of mankind. Automotive enthusiasts still to this day believe that Group B rally was the most epic event and gave birth to the most iconic cars in the world – cars which went on to become the identity of their manufacturers for as long as the world remains. Audi cashed in the group B rally more than any other manufacturer I presume, but disaster awaited followed with a life-time ban of group B rallying but before the ban, Audi had rumors circling its headquarters about a 1000 BHP rally …

Tribute To The Fans of Motor Sports’ We lost In Bahria’s Race Accident
Recently, motorsports in Pakistan suffered an irrevocable loss of precious fans. Safety in such events wasn’t highlighted by the mainstream media, anyways; a thought occurred to me about highlighting what we car guys have lost; cars, drivers and other events as a tribute to the fans of motor sports we lost that evening. Here Ill put into light a few of those cars, drivers and events that we loved the most or the cars that were ahead of others cars in terms of technology by a lot of years but somehow failed to make an impact at that time. Pontiac …
