To celebrate 60 years of Toyota in Thailand, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda introduced two new concept vehicles – The HiLux Revo BEV and its smaller version, IMV 0.

The car concept and prototype were unveiled by the CEO and he further announced that both the concepts will go into production next year. The EV market is going strong globally and Toyota has faced criticism for not producing any green options. While the rest of the world is switching to EV, Toyota has still been conservative about coming up with environmentally friendly options.

It is a smart move by Toyota to produce a green version of one of its most popular and beloved vehicles around the world. The details about the Hilux EV are scarce. Toyota has revealed no information other than the names and pictures of these concepts. Therefore, it is hard to predict how these cars will be received by the market.

Toyota’s Goal

According to Toyota’s CEO Akio Toyoda, the EV is “designed to support carbon neutrality and a better environment for all.” From the pictures, it can be seen that the concept car is built on the existing internal combustion Hilux base. The front grille looks futuristic with a closed, minimal design. A charging port can also be seen on the front three-quarter panel of the car.
