Pakistan’s EV market has received a major boost with the launch of the Aion U-T — an all-electric hatchback released through a partnership between local company Tesla Industries and GoGu Motors.
Known for building Pakistan’s largest EV charging network with 17 active fast chargers, Tesla Industries is now supporting a vehicle designed to make electric mobility practical for Pakistani drivers.
Futuristic Design with Premium Touches
The Aion U-T features a sleek, contemporary exterior with wing-style daytime running lights, cube-shaped LED lights, and matrix LED headlamps. The aerodynamic front end is highlighted with piano-black accents, while 17-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a fastback design improve its road presence.
Other notable design elements include:
- Fixed panoramic glass roof
- Dual-tone paint option on top variant
- Spoiler-integrated brake lamp
- Auto-opening boot with proximity sensor
Performance and Charging: Built for Local Roads
Equipped with a 60 kWh battery, the U-T offers a WLTP-rated range of 500 km, which roughly equals 428 km according to EPA standards, making it suitable for city driving and intercity trips.
Charging is efficient thanks to 3C fast-charging support:
- 30% to 80% in 24 minutes
- 7kW home charger included (full charge in 9 hours)
- With 201 hp and 210 Nm of torque, it balances everyday drivability with enough power for highway driving. Tesla Industries’ expanding charging network makes this EV especially practical in major cities.
Spacious, Tech-Forward Interior
Inside, the U-T features what the company describes as a “Playground Interior,” focusing on openness and comfort. Highlights include:
- Butterfly-style cushioned seats
- Fixed glass roof with retractable cover
- 14.6-inch infotainment screen + 8.8-inch digital cluster
- Voice-activated controls
- Built-in baby monitor for rear seat visibility
Connectivity features include Apple CarPlay and Android phone mirroring (no Android Auto yet).
Safety and Convenience Features
The Aion U-T includes a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assist tech:
- Level 2 ADAS with lane assist and adaptive cruise control
- Blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert
- Six airbags, 540° camera system
- Ventilated front seats, wireless charging
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability
Interior materials include soft-touch padding, carbon-fiber-style trim, and hard plastics — consistent with most compact EVs.
