Audi Pakistan is all set to introduce the all-electric E-Tron 50 Quattro in Pakistan during the first quarter of 2020.
Electric mobility is rising around the globe as different companies in Pakistan also gear up to enter the battery-driven vehicles. The introduction of Pakistan’s first-ever National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP) is the gateway to the fulfillment of all such investments in the local industry. However, it’s not yet implemented in the country. Meanwhile, Audi Pakistan will soon launch its first all-electric SUV E-Tron 50 Quattro in the country. The company has already started the bookings of its SUV, and the units will be delivered from April 2020 to its valuable customers. The company has powerfully entered into the world of electro-mobility through its gigantic SUV.
Power train:
Audi E-Tron 50 Quattro is a stylish yet powerful machine produced by the German auto manufacturer that offers a maximum power of 300 kW. It’s such a responsive vehicle upon acceleration that it doesn’t let you feel if you want to generate instantaneous power on the road. The same amount of torque could be experienced in the reverse mode of transmission as well. It also has an option of optimum traction that lets you experience the true feel of Quattro drive of the next-generation model, if turned on.
Charging & Range:
According to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), the SUV has an extraordinary range of 417 km on a single battery charge. WLTP is a laboratory test carried out to measure the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from passenger cars, under the conditions defined by EU law. However, the range of the vehicle primarily depends on the style of driving, and the customers can use the efficiency drive mode to achieve maximum driving range. The ride height can also be adjusted in accordance with the type of driving mode set to sports or efficiency. It helps in reducing the aerodynamic drag and hence increases the driving range of the vehicle considerably. Likewise, the additional energy consumption luxuries such as air conditioning, entertainment system, headlight beam, and the heated rear window could be used as per the requirement to enhance the range on a single charge.
Moreover, it also has a regulated maximum speed of an astonishing 200 km/h that ensures a thrilling experience in its fully controlled drive. According to the company’s claim, Audi E-Tron 50 Quattro accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds when driven in boost mode. Audi is also the first auto manufacturer worldwide to use the electro-hydraulically integrated brake control system in an electrically powered vehicle. It helps the Audi e-Tron to recharge itself with the help of e-machines on more than 90% of its deceleration.
Moreover, the company also provides the luxury of charging its SUV in a variety of options. The off-road vehicle can be charged through a charging station as well as conveniently at your home. The Audi virtual cockpit gives all the charging-related information so that you can manage your time accordingly. The charging dock of the SUV is just a push-button away from connecting to the AC supply. The charging time of the Audi e-Tron is approximately 6-7 hours. The company also offers a warranty period of 8 years or 160,000 km (whichever comes first) on the high-voltage battery installed in Audi e-Tron.
Exterior:
Audi e-Tron is aggressive and boldly styled as its other models of Audi lineup. The exterior of Audi e-Tron has sharp lines defining its futuristic designing and coupled with optional matrix LED headlamps at the front. The innovative lighting technology sets completely new standards for the SUV and enhances its authority on the road. It’s equipped with a control unit that intelligently switches the diodes on and off and controls the amount of light in accordance with the oncoming traffic. Similarly, it has an LED light strip and dynamic flashing light at the rear side of the vehicle that looks smart and elegant.
The German auto giant has used the virtual exterior mirror technology in its Audi e-Tron model. This particular feature enhances the amount of safety and improves the driving experience to a completely new level. This technology also helps in reducing the width of the vehicle by as much as 15 cm hence decreasing the air resistance as well. The exterior rear-view mirror uses a small camera that helps in projecting the image digitally into a high-contrast OLED display in the door. It’s extremely useful, particularly at night or in low visibility conditions, and helps to see the vehicle coming from behind with razor-sharp clarity.

Audi E-Tron 50 Quattro will be available in the local market in 12 different tones, some of which are as follows:

The high-voltage orange accents of Audi e-Tron highlight the vehicle as a purely electric unit. The off-road vehicle symbolizes its electric character through the e-Tron logo, electric tailgate, color-highlighted wheel arch covers, and door sills.

Audi e-Tron 50 Quattro is a combination of innovation in electric mobility and the luxury of an SUV. It has a spacious cabin coupled with a premium quality of interior built in the two-tone combination. The Audi virtual cockpit is placed in the middle of the dashboard area, which displays all the relevant information and real-time parameters through its intelligent technology. It has ample headroom and legroom inside the cabin along with a storage volume of 660 liters, which turns it into an adventurous and off-ride vehicle. The sharp and aggressive styling inside the cabin makes it look a stunning sight for the passengers. As expected from the German auto giant, the vehicle is powered with great comfort and convenience at the same time. Price (expected):
Audi Pakistan is expected to launch the all-electric SUV in the local market at PKR 14,900,000/- and the company is already taking the booking orders of Audi e-Tron 50 Quattro.

Only the rich can afford this. But I’m glad companies, like Audi are encouraged to release their products here. The only concern I have is whether we will have enough charging ports and proper engineers and mechanics.
