Haval H6 & BJ40 Plus Prices Increased After GST
After Toyota, Suzuki, and DFSK, Sazgar Engineering, the local partners of Haval and BAIC, increased the prices of Haval H6 and BJ40 Plus. The prices are revised after the imposition of the General Sales Tax (GST) by the government.
Haval H6 New Prices
As per the notification, these are the new prices of Haval H6:
- The new price of H6 1.5T is Rs. 8,525,000 compared to the previous Rs. 8,449,000 as its rate has been increased by Rs. 76,000.
- H6 2.0T saw an increase of Rs. 100,000, and now it will cost Rs. 9,749,000 compared to Rs. 9,69,000.
- Finally, H6 HEV‘s new price is Rs. 11,095,000 compared to the last price of Rs. 10,995,000 as its price is also increased by Rs. 100,000.
BAIC BJ40 Plus New Price
- After the hike, the new price of BAIC BJ40 Plus is Rs. 10,585,000 against the last rate of Rs. 9,995,000 after the company increased its price by Rs. 590,000.
Yesterday, Sazgar Engineering was the fourth company to increase its prices, and these hikes were expected after the imposition of a 1% extra GST in the mini-budget. The other car companies will follow as they have to receive the tax from the consumers because it is going into the government’s pocket. The current ruling coalition has imposed this extra tax to complete the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to get the next loan.
Along with other industries, this new GST is a fresh setback for the auto industry, which is already reeling from the unstable economic conditions, devaluation of PKR against the USD, and above all, non-issuance of LCs by the State Bank of Pakistan. The new hikes will further take the new cars away from the reach of a common consumer as, under current economic conditions, it is tough to go for the new vehicle.
