The crossover SUV MG HS by Morris Garage (MG) Motors has proved to be a success in Pakistan. As per the company, it has booked over 4,000 units of the car so far. Furthermore, our sources earlier confirmed that a court has ordered to release of around 750 units of the vehicle from Karachi port. Authorities stopped these vehicles over the ‘under-invoicing’ issue. Also, three banks have issued LCs for 5,200 MG cars, meaning they are indeed coming to Pakistan.
So, after MG HS’s success in the local market, MG Pakistan is reportedly planning to launch a Plug-in-hybrid variant of HS named MG HS PHEV. It means the car would have a 1500cc Turbocharged engine as well as a charging port like electric vehicles. So, you can drive the car on both fuel and electric power. As per a statement on company’s Facebook page, HS PHEV’s “cutting-edge technology and top-rated safety systems offer a superior driving experience under the concept of British dynamic, combining performance, handling, design and safety.”

As per the post, the car has 370Nm Torque, with 55-kilometer per liter fuel mileage. If it is true, then it is an excellent average for consumers. Furthermore, the vehicle could reach from 0 to 100 in 7.1 seconds.
MG in Pakistan:
The company has created a serious buzz in the local market since its arrival. With its local partner JSW Group, the company has launched two cars so far, MG HS and MG ZS. Meanwhile, the company has announced to launch of the electric vehicle MG ZS EV. Furthermore, the company has also hinted at the launch of its hatchback MG 3. As per MG, this hatchback could be sold for under Rs2million.
The MG Pakistan has been claiming record-high sales in different cities, including Faisalabad, Islamabad and Karachi. With every new launch, it seems that the company is here to stay and make its strong mark in the market.
