New Price of Toyota Corolla is Rs. 5,479,000??
There is confusion in the air about Toyota car prices, as the company officials are saying something else, while their official website was showing something else. And now you are confused too, right? Don’t worry, let us explain.
“Updated” Prices on Toyota Pakistan Website
So, today Toyota Pakistan website updated the prices of Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris, which got our attention. According to the update, the prices of Corolla were increased around Rs. 6 lacs, while Yaris prices apparently saw a jump of Rs. 3 lacs.
Here is one example: the current price of Toyota Corolla Altis Grande (Black Interior) is Rs. 4,899,000, while the website was showing the revised price as Rs. 5,479,000. Meanwhile, the current rate of Toyota Yaris ATIV X CVT 1.5L (top of the line variant) is Rs. 3,659,000, while the updated price was Rs. 4,059,000. And here are the screenshots from the Toyota’s website.
In short, these screenshots from the Toyota website show the updated prices of its cars, but there is a twist in it.
Toyota Official’s Statement
To reconfirm, we contacted Toyota Pakistan and its official rejected the news. “We have not increased prices,” he said, adding that “Agency was managing placeholder prices.” So, its a no from the company management for the time being.
However, we can expect a jump in prices in coming days, as Withholding tax and Capital Value Tax (CVT) have been imposed on cars by the government. Furthermore, the rupee is on a slippery slop against the US dollar, while the freight charges are high, petrol prices are going up and above all, State Bank is not issuing LCs for the import of CKD kits.
So, we think that it is matter of time as price will most probably go up. And not only Toyota’s but other companies will follow the suit.
What is your opinion about this whole scenario? Should we expect another price hike in coming days? Please share your thoughts in the comments section.
