An iconic car for an iconic character! Land Rover has prepared a special model of its famous SUV, the Land Rover Defender 90, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise. The special model is all set to compete in the 2022 Bowler Defender Challenge on March 26, 2022, with a stunt driver from multiple James Bond films behind the wheel.

Land Rover x James Bond

The British automaker, Land Rover, has had a partnership with the James Bond franchise since 1983. Over the years, many Land Rover models have appeared alongside the secret agent on the big screen. Last year, the company launched the limited Defender V8 Bond Edition. If you have seen the latest film “No Time To Die”, you must have witnessed its magical appearance on the screen.

The anniversary special Land Rover Defender 90 looks chic with the number 60 and the classic “007” logo written on the roof and the sides in black and gold. The titles of 25 Bond films are listed on the bonnet and tailgate.

Besides these beauty elements, the rally-prepped Defender 90 has a different grille, an extra LED bar, sports exhaust, mud flaps, rear spoiler, bespoke suspension, strengthened 18-inch wheels, roll cage, and a pair of racing brackets. Under the hood lies a P300 Ingenium 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 296 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Driver Mark Higgins and co-driver Claire Williams will race the SUV in the 2022 Bowler Defender Challenge. Higgins is a three-time British Rally Champion and a stunt driver in the last four Bond films, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die.
