Since everything is going electric these days, so I wasn’t surprised when Ford was rumored to bring an EV with a Mustang badge on it. Similarly, I’m not surprised that GMC is making a similar move; however, this time, it’s more of a resurrection. This sure comes as a delight for hummer fans as to the latest and provocative rumors; the famous Wall street journal is making a claim that “individuals acquainted with the issue” said GM is bringing back Hummer as a rough terrain electric pickup model under the GMC brand.
It is supposed to hit the market in early 2022, even more interesting is that truck will be put on display and shown –off by the famous basketball star Lebron James during this year’s super bowl according to the new site’s sources.

We’ve heard bits of gossip about GM potentially reviving the Dead-Since-2010 Hummer brand as an electric rough terrain vehicle brand, and word on the road was that the vehicles would be worked at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant. Undoubtedly the GM intends to sell Hummer as an electric pickup. Yet, presently we have new subtleties from the Wall Street Journal, including Los Angeles Lakers triple-twofold machine LeBron James, the schedule year 2022, and the GMC brand.
As we know, the Hummer badge has been dead for over a decade now. Some of us might think that Hummer was a profitable business for GMC, but it wasn’t really the case in the early 2000s. Most of it has to do with the thirsty nature of these machines. With the massive V8s, the owners had their pockets empty real quick after each refill, and secondly, these beasts left an absurd amount of carbon footprint behind too bad for the environment. This wasn’t all; Hummer sure had a reputation of being rough ‘n’ tough go military vehicle anyways. But at the same time didn’t offer anything different or better as compared to pickups from rival companies. And lastly, a slow sales figure put the final nail in the coffin of the Hummer brand.
The new Hummer model is probably going to be sold in little volumes as a rough, jeep-like pickup truck for rough terrain devotees, said individuals who are involved in this mission, which makes sense because, at best, GM will be able to sell these new models to original Hummer fans. If that is successful, only then it’s feasible to target a wider audience.
The story proceeds to state that this time Hummer isn’t going to be a standalone brand—it will simply be another GMC model. But we all should keep one thing in mind that all these details are rumors and speculations as there haven’t been any official confirmation yet, although we consider wall street journal a credible source what matters the most is an official confirmation through GMC sooner down the road.
