Car and bike theft is common in Punjab, especially in Lahore. Punjab Police is putting its best forces to fight crime and recover people’s stolen vehicles. As per a recent development, Punjab’s Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff (AVLS) has arrested car and motorcycle thief gangs and recovered more than 500 stolen vehicles in just 20 days.

Punjab Police recently held a press conference to give the stolen vehicles back to the citizens. After the press conference, SP AVLS Aftab Phularwan informed the media that the police issued 592 challans and recovered stolen vehicles worth Rs. 3 crore and 72 lac.

The police have recovered 13 to 14 years old stolen motorcycles and cars and surprised the citizens who had lost all hopes. The citizens felt grateful to the Punjab Police for doing their best and bringing them their stolen vehicles.

SP Phularwan said that the Punjab Police is working on the vision of Additional Inspector General (IG) Fayyaz Ahmad. As a part of this vision, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigations Shahzada Sultan has made an action plan with the police force to make the citizens feel safe by retrieving their stolen properties.

How to save your vehicles from getting stolen?

DIG Shehzada Sultan asked the citizens to do the following to keep their vehicles safe from thieves.

  • Park your vehicles in safe and secure places, not just anywhere on the road.
  • If you can’t find secured parking, use a security lock to steer clear of any theft.

The DIG said that, for a city like Lahore, not everyone can park their vehicles in safe parking or even keep locks for their motorbikes and cars. That’s why the police are staying active and doing their best to keep their properties safe.

If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation, call Punjab Police at 15.
