Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has marked its 35th year in Pakistan by rolling out significant specification enhancements for its popularToyota Fortuner and Revo lineups. What’s particularly noteworthy for consumers is that these upgrades are being introduced at no additional cost, with Ex-Factory Karachi Prices remaining unchanged. However, deliveries will commence on 23rd July.

Let’s break down the specific updates across the variants and discuss their potential impact.

New Features

Fortuner GR-S:

  • Panoramic View Monitor (PVM): This is a welcome addition for a vehicle of the Fortuner’s size, providing a 360-degree view that significantly aids in parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM): A crucial safety feature that alerts the driver to vehicles in their blind spots, enhancing highway driving safety.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA): This system warns the driver of approaching vehicles when reversing out of a parking spot, a common scenario where accidents can occur.

All Fortuner Variants:

  • Upgraded Infotainment System: The move to a faster 3-core processor and HD resolution (1280×720) is a much-needed improvement. This should result in a more responsive and visually clearer user experience, addressing common complaints about previous generations.
  • 0A Fast Charging: A practical feature for modern smartphone users, allowing quicker charging of devices.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: This is a significant convenience upgrade, eliminating the need for cables for smartphone mirroring. It enhances the cabin’s modernity and user experience.

Revo GR-S:

  • Panoramic View Monitor (PVM): The PVM will be a considerable advantage for the Revo, especially for a pickup truck that might be used in diverse environments.

All Revo Variants :

  • Upgraded Infotainment System: The same benefits of a faster processor and HD resolution apply, improving the overall in-cabin tech experience for Revo owners.
  • 0A Fast Charging: Standardized fast charging across the lineup is a thoughtful inclusion.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: This brings the Revo’s connectivity up to par with contemporary expectations.

Overall, this update is a welcome development for the Pakistani automotive market, offering more refined and feature-rich options in the SUV and pickup segments without an immediate financial burden on the consumer. It will be interesting to observe how these enhancements impact sales and competitive dynamics in the coming months.

Overexpensive and outdated compared to the competition
A fortuner is starting from 15 000 000 PKR today were the lastest generation of Kia Sorento recently launched is costing 13 800 000 PKR for the premium 3.5 V6 engine
    Sorento is cheaper and better
The Hilux lost his shine with the newly launched Isuzu D-Max is starting from 10 500 000 pkr against 11 400 000 PKR for Hilux
I guess is time for Sorento and D-max to shine
