Big Family? Best MPV Cars in Pakistan for Big Families

So you’ve got a big family, e.g., more than one marriage or a joint family? Instead of buying multiple cars, why not just buy one big vehicle that can accommodate your whole family in it?

Here are the best multi-seater cars that can accommodate big families with reasonable comfort.

Honda BR-V

Honda BR-V – Honda

Honda calls it an MPV, but in our POV, an MPV would be too much for  BR-V. We can use a Micro MPV for it. It’s a 7-seater car, with 5 seats in the front and 2 seats in the trunk for legless passengers.

The first and middle rows are all good, but the trunk’s two seats are not suitable for adults, not even for teens. Those seats are only good if you got small kids under 14, you can throw them in the trunk, but for adults, it’s an excellent 5-seater Micro MPV car.

However, it’s Honda, so resale is good for it, at least better than other Chinese cars that we’ll mention here.

DFSK Glory 580 Pro

If you don’t mind a Chinese-origin car, then the Glory 580 Pro is the best family car that money can get you. The used 2021-22 can be found for 4.9-5.2 million PKR.

It’s a good MPV and a 7-seater car in which 7-8 adults can fit easily. Unlike its brother Prince Pearl, the interior is also good, and you don’t find any loose or improper fittings. The engine is a 1500cc turbo engine, which is good enough for motorway cruising, even if it’s fully loaded.

The only negative aspect of Glory 580 Pro is its resale. Because of its Chinese origin, its market resale is nowhere near that of a Honda or Toyota car. In our opinion, it’s the best option for personal use.

Honda Freed

Freed is a proper MPV van, but it can’t fit more than six people. The reason is the seating design. Unlike other cars, the front and middle rows have separate seats for each passenger, not combined seats. The back truck seats are combined, so two adults can fit in the trunk.

Being a JDM, comfort is good, as expected, and the built quality is up to the mark. The wheels, however, are small, only 15 inches. The engine is NA 1500cc, which might feel underpowered if you’re going north. The seats are all made of fabric, which is best for the Pakistani environment, and the AC works fine in Pakistan’s hot climate.

Suzuki Every

If you got a low budget and can’t afford a 4-6 million budget MPV, then we suggest you go with Suzuki Every. There are other options as well in comparison to Every, like FAW XPV and Changan’s MPV, but Every is more common in this category and budget.

It’s basically a JDM version of Bolan but with a lot more features and comfort. In stock, it has seating for 5-6 people; if you put extra aftermarket seats in the trunk, this car can easily accommodate 7 people.

But note that it’s only a 660cc tiny engine car with a very small rim size. Therefore, you can’t take this car on motorways if it’s fully loaded.

Nissan Serena

Nissan Serena is a mid-budget MPV van suitable for long tours but not good for northern trips. The engine is a tiny 1200cc petrol version mated with a hybrid motor. It’s good for city rides and pleasing for motorways, but we don’t think this power will work out for northern trips.

Although the exterior gives a modern vibe, from the inside, there’s nothing special about it. Under a 5-6 million budget, we think there are other good options unless you’re JDM-obsessed and only want a Japanese MPV.

Changan Karvaan

Karvaan is probably the cheapest brand-new MPV you can get in Pakistan. It comes with an AC and a good 1,000cc engine. Moreover, it’s probably the most selling microvan in its category. It’s a 7-seater compact van that easily accommodates 5 adults and 3 kids or 6 kids and 3 adults.

The power-to-weight ratio is also good and probably a good commuter for Northern trips; we even saw the Karvaans in Babusart Top and Naran Valley. If your budget is low and you can’t afford a high-budget MPV, Karvaan is probably your best choice.

I don’t generally comment but article has lot of mistake. Honda Freed has a NA engine but the one imported in Pakistan is Hybrid version. Freed has 5,6 and 7 seating option so you can buy according to your family size. The only negative of Freed is like all JDM vehicles ground clearance is less

Similarly, the hybrid system of Nissan is entirely different. The tiny 1200cc engine donot power the wheels. It’s purpose is to charge the hybrid batteries which in turn drive the electric motors. Wheels are connected to electric motors. That’s why it is called e-power. It’s acceleration and power becomes adequate for all kind of terrain
