Ford Mustang At A Price Of A Civic – Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 1995 Ford Mustang. In this review, the owner shares his in-depth knowledge about his car and his experience with it so far. This particular car is a 4th generation Mustang which debuted in 1994 and remained in production till 2004. This car has a 3.8 liter v6 engine producing around 145 hp and 292 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 4-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
History
The 4th generation Mustang was a product of Ford’s attempt to compete with the Japanese automakers emerging in the Auto Industry. Where cars like the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, and the Honda NSX brought a new dimension to the performance car category with their ahead-of-time designs, Ford also decided to revamp their Mustang. This generation was eminently known as the “Fox Body” Mustang, and several changes were made to it in its production period until Ford understood that it was a lost cause. The 5th gen Mustang debuted in 2004, but this time in its former glory, which it was once known for.
Interior
This generation of the Mustang was aimed to be a comfortable cruiser compared to its prior rough and tough image. The interior also shows a slanted dashboard and very soft and welcoming fabric seats. The layout is pretty standard, with an analog instrument cluster, ac vents and switches in the middle, a digital clock, and the signature gear knob. Space-wise, the cabin is bigger than it looks, with a comfortable traveling experience for the passengers.
Exterior
This generation Mustang’s exterior is very distinctive. It originally came with two-piece headlights, which the owner didn’t like, and replaced them with one-piece headlights. The owner also changed the alloys as he didn’t like the original design and changed them with the ones in late models. Besides that, it has visors on the rear screen and a dual-tip exhaust with a noticeable growl.
Maintenance
This particular Mustang is very rare in Pakistan; hence the maintenance can be a little tricky. As per the owner, oil is readily available, but the oil filter and oil filter need to be sourced from abroad. He personally keeps a stock of filters with him as frequent sourcing can be a challenge.
Price
According to the owner, such old cars’ value is purely based on condition. A recent phenomenon with classic cars is that originality is valued more than a modified vehicle. This particular car is in pretty good shape and original form; hence, it can be valued at around PKR 4 to 5 million. “We don’t even get Civics nowadays with that money,” he added.
