Mercedes-Benz is stepping into the future with its 2026 CLA, an entry-level car that’s anything but ordinary. This new model is set to become the brand’s most advanced electric vehicle (EV), blending luxury, technology, and performance in a way that’s hard to ignore.
While it will also offer a hybrid version, the EV is the show’s star, arriving about nine months before its gas-powered sibling. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this car special.
Sleek and Stylish Design
The 2026 CLA keeps the sleek, four-door coupe shape that made its predecessors so popular, but it looks bigger and more modern. The front end has a slightly forward-leaning stance, giving it a sporty feel.
The grille area features tiny, glowing star elements, and the iconic Mercedes logo in the center also lights up. The headlights and taillights are designed to look like three-pointed stars, connected by light bars, making the car stand out day or night.
A High-Tech Interior
Inside, the CLA feels like a spaceship. The dashboard is dominated by three screens: a 10.3-inch display for the driver, a 14.0-inch touchscreen in the center, and an optional screen of the same size for the passenger.
The infotainment system uses Google Maps, including AI-powered search features for more intelligent navigation. The steering wheel has touch controls for volume and other functions, keeping things simple and intuitive.
The cabin is spacious and luxurious, with a panoramic glass roof that lets in plenty of light. Rear-seat passengers will find more headroom and knee space than before, though the raised floor (to fit the battery) means there’s less footroom under the front seats.
For those who want something extra special, a launch edition comes with gold accents, brown leather seats with gold stitching, and a matte-black exterior with gold-trimmed wheels.

Power and Performance
The 2026 CLA offers options for everyone. The base model has a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For those ready to go electric, there are two choices: the CLA 250+ with EQ Technology and the CLA 350 4Matic with EQ Technology. The 250+ has a single motor powering the rear wheels, delivering 268 horsepower, while the 350 4Matic has dual motors for all-wheel drive and 349 horsepower.
Both EVs have a two-speed transmission, with one gear for city driving and another for the highway. Later in the year, Mercedes will also offer an EV with a more affordable lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery.
The 2026 CLA is more than just a car—it’s a glimpse into the future of Mercedes-Benz. With its stunning design, advanced technology, and electric-first approach, it sets a new standard for entry-level luxury. Whether you’re an EV enthusiast or just love great cars, the CLA is worth keeping an eye on.
