What Does the 2500cc Sonata Have That’s Worth the Extra 7 Lacs?
Did you hear? Hyundai-Nishat has broken the silence on the prices of Sonata. A few weeks back, we learned that the Hyundai Sonata is coming in two variants. We also got our hands on the leaked pictures and made our guess about the prices of locally assembled Sonata. Turns out, it was pretty close. Here are the official ex-factory prices.
Variant Price
2000cc Sonata Rs. 6,399,000
2500cc Sonata Rs. 7,099,000
As you can see, there’s a price difference of 7 lacs between the two variants. So, the question arises, what are the feature differences? What does the 2500cc variant have that’s worth the extra 7 lacs?
For a first, the 2.5L variant has a more powerful engine that produces 180 horsepower and 232 Nm of torque. The 2.0L engine of the other variant produces 152 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque. Here are the other add-ons.
1. Auto-Retractable Shade at Rear
The 2500cc Sonata will have an automatic retractable shade for the rear window. Simply press the button, and this shade will screen the rear window and keep the sun out of your car.
2. Head-Up Display
The next feature the upper variant has is the Head-Up Display (HUD). With this feature, you can see information as a transparent image on the windshield. What speed you’re going, navigation, and other driver safety information. You can turn this feature on or off with the touchscreen and even customize where the display appears and what info you want to see on there.
The purpose of this feature is to display information at an eye level of the driver, so they don’t have to look away from the road ahead.
3. Six Airbags
The last add-on for the 2500cc Sonata is the number of airbags, which will be six: dual front, dual side and dual curtain making the car super safe for all the passengers.
So, how do you like the above three features in the 2500cc Hyundai Sonata? Do you think these are worth the extra 7 lacs? How would you rate this car on a scale of 1 to 10? Let us know in the comments.
The Higher price is understandable with bigger engine and the head up display, but it is better to make standards airbags on all cars whatever the trim level, i think this is something we overlook in the new auto policy.
