The government has revised the prices of petroleum prices for the month of April and here are the new prices. The new petrol prices will come into effect from 1st April 2018.

Only a couple of days ago, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) proposed the government to decrease the price of petrol by PKR 5.26 but increase the prices of high-speed diesel, light-speed diesel and kerosene oil by Rs 0.65, Rs 0.55 and Rs 0.13 respectively.
However, the government decided to decrease the price of petrol by only Rs 2.07 but has also decreased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 2.45 as well as kerosene’s price by Rs 0.46. The price of light speed diesel has remained the same.
The decrease in the price of petrol is not as much as people might have been hoping for but it is something. Analysts have been saying that the government cannot decrease the fuel prices more than that since the tax on fuel is the constant revenue stream for the government. However, no matter how small the decrease, it would not be wrong to say that the price decrease is going to be appreciated by the common folks.
