Shahid Afridi Gifted Kawasaki H2R to Shaheen Afridi, REALLY?
Since last week, video and photos are circulating on social media showing Pakistani cricket stars Shahid Afridi and Shaheen Afridi at unveiling of superbike Kawasaki H2R in Karachi. The video shows that both stars removed the cover from the bike as crowd cheered.
After the video, several social media pages stated that Shahid Afridi has gifted this superbike to Shaheen Afridi. Here it is pertinent to mention that Shaheen is engaged to daughter of Shahid, hence, reports suggested that it is a gift from a father-in-law to his future son-in-law. These reports were rather surprising for us too, so we decided to do some digging. And our research showed a totally opposite picture.
Are Claims Real?
The short answer is NO!. Shahid Afridi has not gifted this bike to Shaheen rather the superbike is imported by Mazhar Shah. Who is Mazhar Shah, you may ask? He is a car dealer from Karachi and cousin of Shahid Afridi. So, please don’t believe everything you see on social media. Both Afridis were there as guests and that is it.
Kawasaki H2R
This is third Kawasaki H2R in Pakistan. As per our sources, the owner imported this bike in Rs1-Crore and 55 lacs. The superbike is designed specifically for track race and considered one of the fastest bikes in the world. Last year, we did an owner’s review of Pakistan’s first H2R and here are some snippets from it.
Key Features of Kawasaki Ninja H2R:
The company has used a lot of carbon fiber in making of H2R, which makes it lightweight but gives it more strength. The exhaust of this bike is made with Titanium, and it is thunderous.
In a first look, the bike looks more of a piece of craft than a machine, making it most unique bike in the world.
Engine:
Like H2, Kawasaki H2R is 1000cc, but its Super Charger and shaft is bigger than Kawasaki H2, resulting in 325bhp power
Is it Really The Fastest Bike?
According to the owner, no bike has yet broken its record of speed. As per reports, under the right environment and right gears, this bike can go up to 420 kilometers per hour.
