The Rolls-Royce Sweptail that is being presented at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este in May this year is probably the priciest new car available in the market. The price tag of roughly $12.8 million (1.34 billion rupees) is quite astonishing. The car has taken inspiration from Rolls-Royce of the early 1920s and 1930s. It includes elements of the Phantom of 1925 I Round Door and the 1934 Phantom II Streamline Saloon. Along with these two, it combines elements from 1934 Gurney Nutting Phantom II and the Park Ward 20/25 Limousine Coupe.
Some of the customizations may seem extravagant while others may seem too simple. The car has a panoramic roof and a unique registration number ‘08’. The cabin is kept simple and contemporary as per the requests of the customer. The unique colour combination for the seats is light moccasin and dark spice leathers in the interior. Instead of rear seats, the car features a wooden mid-shelf with an illuminated glass lip. The car will also be equipped with a unique handmade clock with the slimmest Macassar veneer and titanium hands, making it indeed a one-off masterpiece.
