The information about the Altis 1.6 that we brought you last week was indeed true. Indus Motor Company (IMC) is going to formally launch the Corolla Altis 1.6 on Friday, November 14.
The official details as provided by one of the dealerships are as follows:
Altis will feature a 1598cc 1ZR-FE Dual VVT-i engine with Super ECT 4-speed automatic transmission instead of a CVT like in the Altis Grande. In the interior, it will have a 7 inch LCD in-dash entertainment system, fabric seats with some sort of “premium material”. It will not have integrated controls on the steering wheel like the ones we saw in the Altis Grande. On the exterior, it will have color coded door handles, partially chromed front grille and 15″ alloy wheels.
You can have the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 at a “throwaway” ex-factory price Rs. 1,972,000 only.

Half chrome grill is disappointing for 1.6 I was planning to buy this one :/ Though now i dont know whether i should or not coz i prefer manual tranny. Auto sucks.

Will not be under powered like 1.3l Gli but prices of new models are only for high ups, mediocre customers are far away to enjoy these rides.
looks almost identical to the Gli – no fog lights, no functions on steering wheel etc. That’s not good for a car which will cost you well above 2 million rps!
Disappointing Launch of Toyota Altis 1.6. Is this you called a luxurious car in 2 million, WITHOUT:
cruise control, immobilizer device, fog lights & flat-look dashboard shape?? Pathetic!
