Both BMW and Audi are working proactively in not only extending their market share here in Pakistan but also to bring new models and variants of their respective brands as soon they hit the international market. Only recently BMW Pakistan launched its 2017 BMW 5 Series 530i. And now BMW in Pakistan has announced that it will soon be launching two new cars:
- 2017 BMW 2 Series Coupe
- 2017 BMW 2 Series Convertible.
BMW Pakistan also revealed that both the coupe and the convertible would be 218i. It is for the first time BMW will be officially launching the 2 Series BMW in Pakistan. Currently, BMW Pakistan is offering these five models in Pakistan:
- BMW 3 Series
- BMW 5 Series
- BMW X1
- BMW X4
- BMW X5
The new 2 Series will be sixth offering in an already impressive lineup. BMW Pakistan told the news of 2 Series launch to PakWheels exclusively, saying that initially a few units will be imported to see the market response. And if the Pakistani consumers have shown enough interest, you can expect BMW to bring out more units for sale.

Engine and Performance
Both 218i will come with BMW’s 1499cc, 3-cylinder, 12-valve, water-cooled turbocharged engine. The engine makes 136 BHP and 220 Nm of torque at 1250 RPM. The BMW 218i Coupe has the top speed of 210 KMPH and does zero to sixty in 8.9 seconds. On the other hand, the BMW 218i Convertible has the top speed of 205 KMPH and does zero to sixty in 9.6 seconds. BMW claims that both the 218i Coupe and 218i Convertible can do 17-19 km/l and 16-18 km/l respectively in combined (urban+extra urban) conditions.
Although BMW officials didn’t commit any fix date but hinted that both the coupe and the convertible are expected to be put up for sale by the second half of November.
