Xiaomi To Reveal Its First Electric Car Next Month

Last year, several reports revealed that tech giant Xiaomi is planning to launch its first electric prototype car in 2024. Now, the latest reports by Chinese media outlets have stated that the company is about to unveil the electric car next month.

As per reports, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun will reveal the car in August 2022. Reports have also disclosed that Jun devotes most of his time at Xiaomi Auto headquarters in a bid to oversee the ongoing development regarding the company’s first EV.

Variants & Price

It would be interesting to know what Xiaomi brings to you pertaining to car variants and its prices? Reports have unveiled that the company intends to launch A+ and B segment supermini and subcompact vehicles.

The supermini car will come with L2 while the later will have L3 autonomous driving support. Now comes to price, Supermini will cost Rs. 4.6 million (150,000 – 200,000 Yuan) while the later subcompact will cost Rs. 6.2 million (200,000 – 300,000 Yuan).

What to Expect In the Future?

After the company launches the car, there comes a series of tests. The company enters the Electric Vehicles Market in 2021 with an investment of $1.5 billion, announces further investment of $10 billion over the next 10 years. It has been tipped that the company is likely to start its mass production in 2024.

The company’s manufacturing facility named “Yizhuang” carries the capacity to produce 30,000 units annually.

Pakistani EV lovers may seek the car inside the border. But they must look into the country’s economic health before thinking about Xiaomi cars on national highways. Rupee depreciation, dollar growing profile, Large fiscal slippages, and above all, ban on CBU units – Xiaomi electric cars are far beyond our expectations.
