Mustangs are not cars, they are a sensation, a fever all enthusiasts crave for! Here we got our hands on the 2018 Ford Mustang GT fused with the Shelby boasting poise, power, and roar.

Make, Model, and Variant

Amid the electrification fever, the Ford Motor Company announced end to its ICE muscle cars this year, we thanked God that still we have preserved the traditional ones to enjoy that real engine displacement.

The one we reviewed was a 2018 Ford Mustang GT featuring a 5L engine, a convertible roof, and a 4-seater mid-sized compact body.

Purchase Decision

No matter how much noise BYD and Tesla could make, American muscle cars are a passion only motorheads can relate to. Shehzad, the owner of this Mustang visited Las Vegas in 2016. During his trip he got to see numerous fluorescent racers on the road which led him falling for these iconic wheelers.

After coming back to Pakistan, he was continuously in search of these iconic muscle cars but in right-hand drive to fuel his love. Finally, he found the 5.0 GT fused Shelby.

Engine and Other Specs

This 2018 Mustang draws power from a 5.0 Litre, V8 engine which delivers 460 HP and 420 lb-ft of torque. Covering a 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds makes this machine ultimately fast. Besides, it is a Shelby modified version for which it has a tweaked bumper, bonnet, shifter knob, exhaust system, rims, taillights, etc. Also, it has been repainted from a golden striped combo to an all-black theme eliminating all the chrome which enhanced its sportiness.

Moreover, it has a unique interior which is minimal yet functional with classic vibes. Featuring a 12-inch digital cluster panel, pedal shifters, Radar, push start, and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to contribute to its aggressiveness with safety. Although it would have been a more exciting project if it was a Shelby tuned car.

Maintenance

There is no doubt that these symbolic cars are only for the ones who can afford their expensive doses. Their maintenance and parts availability is something not everyone can afford. However, importing spare parts from UAE comes as a great option for the owners.

Competing against the Camaro, Corvette, and Dodge, Ford Mustang has got that roar that will compel you to say that muscle cars must be given one more chance above the EVs.
