Ford Mustang 1966 was a performance, luxury, and economy car titled by the Ford. With a handy design and a convertible roof, it was the highest-selling model of Mustangs up till now. Today, we will share about the Classic Car Rally, where we got our hands on this beauty owned by Sameer.

Let’s dive in and find out more about its specifications and performance.

Make, Model, and Variant

It was a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible and the most appealing car in the vintage car rally. This model was released in 1964 and became a hotcake seller by the end of 1966, selling over 1 million models. However, the Chevy Impala was the biggest competitor of Mustang 1966 at that time.

The Ford Motor Company refused to change the design for three consecutive years to combat the increasing demand for this model.

1966 Ford Mustang Modification

What made the Mustangs special were their rare colors, Columbine Blue, Timberline Green, and Aspen Gold. However, this one was a Grabber Orange inspired by the new Mustang GT500. Previously, it was a C-code, 4.7 L engine, which Sameer upgraded into a 5L V8.

Nearly all the 1966 Ford Mustang parts were genuine, including the steering wheel and the cluster panel, but the owner outsourced the Air Conditioner and RPM dial for upgradation. It was an Auto-transmission car with a soft top.

Sameer drove this car from Karachi in the car rally for more than 12,000 Km. He shared that there was no performance issue in the vehicle. He also told us that this project pony car got ready for driving just one day before the car rally began.

Sameer encouraged all the classic car enthusiasts to put their ultimate hard work and time into building a project car and take this Ford Mustang as a testament that holds exceptional value for him.
