ALERT – Over 1 Lakh Cars Already in Murree

And we have a traffic advisory for you if you want to enjoy snow falling and travel to northern areas. According to our Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, around 1 Lakh cars have already entered in Murree. So, if you want to go, plan accordingly.

Although the minister has credited the rush to the improved lifestyle of the masses, but this is another debate altogether. We are sharing the news to warn you against travelling to those areas. Hundreds of people and cars stuck in the hill station every year due to heavy snow, but it seems people don’t learn from the past. These jams cause serious inconvenience to people, authorities and cars as well.

Last Month Update

On December 29th, 50,000 cars had already entered Murree, where there’s a parking capacity of only 4,000 vehicles.

Henceforth, the Rawalpindi administration issued a travel advisory for the tourists coming to Murree. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi had deployed a number of traffic wardens under the supervision of inspectors at all critical points. 

The travel advisory will help tourists avoid traffic jams and enjoy the weather. The police have requested the drivers to keep in their lanes, avoid violating the traffic rules to get ahead, stay patient, and save each other time. 

DC Muhammad Ali Randhawa said a large number of illegally parked vehicles have further reduced the space for traffic to move forward. The authorities will take strict measures to get traffic violators out of the way and ensure the traffic flow.  

Advisory for Murree Tourists

If you are planning to go to Murree to enjoy the winter vacation or are already there, please take care of these things.

  • Avoid taking vehicles with weak engines. 
  • Keep the air pressure low in your vehicles’ tyres.
  • Do not stop your vehicle in the middle of the road to capture selfies and pictures.
  • Keep in your lane if you are stuck in a traffic jam.

    A 100,000 cars, how on earth are people even finding the time to travel to Murree? On one hand people claim that inflation is killing them but on second side they have the money to spare for such travels.
