Fuel Prices belatedly Raised by up to 9 Rupees

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) under its Chairman Dr. Hafeez Sheikh has increased the prices of petroleum products by up to PKR 9 per litre.

The decision was taken on May 3 2019. Note here that the price of petrol has been increased by PKR 9 per litre, whereas the rate of kerosene oil has been increased by PKR 7.46 per litre and that of light-speed diesel has been increased by PKR 6.40 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has been increased by PKR 4.89 by the government.

The new prices are as follows:

Petrol:  PKR 108 per litre

High-speed diesel: PKR 122.32 per litre

Kerosene oil: PKR 96.77 per litre

Light-speed diesel: PKR 86.94 per litre

The previous prices are below:

Petrol:  Rs.98.89 per liter

High-speed diesel: Rs.117.43 per liter

Kerosene oil: Rs.89.31 per liter

Light-speed diesel: Rs.80.54 per liter

It is imperative to note here that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended to the Finance Ministry that the prices of petroleum products should be increased by up to PKR 14.
