1 41,809

The majority of car buyers are now switching to used cars as the prices of a brand-new car are just too expensive to make sense. To help our buyers, we started the series of best-used car lists in our previous blog. This is the follow-up for the next category of best used cars under 30 lacs in Pakistan. We’ve compiled the list carefully based on market demand, resale value, mechanics’ availability, and parts pricing.

Honda City 5th Generation (2012-2016)

The first car in this list of best used cars under 30 Lacs is Honda City. City is Honda’s most-sold car in Pakistan’s history. Currently, we have the 6th generation as a brand new offering, but the 5th generation was also a popular car of the time, and it came to Pakistan from 2009 to 2021.

A C-segment sedan by Honda, which had all the basic features that a mid-size family requires, including a spacious interior, boot (diggi), good AC, good stereo, power steering, and power windows. The top-variant, Aspire, had alloy rims, shark fin antenna, and wooden finish on the interior, but you may not find that car under the 30 lacs category.

A 1.3 i-Vtec Prosmatec under 30 lacs is a great deal to go with. Its fuel average ranges between 12-13 Km/l, and parts pricing is also not too expensive.

Features:

  • Power steering and power windows
  • Good AC performance
  • Large boot space
  • Spacious interior
  • Very smooth drive quality in this price range

Suggested pricing: 24 to 30 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Toyota Vitz (2010-2015)

For JDM enthusiasts looking for a reliable car under 3 million, there is no better choice than the Toyota Vitz. It is known for its popularity both locally and in Japan. Being a JDM Toyota, the built quality and reliability of this car is very solid, with the engine lasting about 800,000 Km before a complete overhaul is required.

The car comes packed with many of the latest tech goodies, including airbags, ABS, immobilizer, VSA, climate control, traction control, and a rearview camera. It uses a 1000cc EFI engine that gives you a fuel average of 14-16 Km/l, but one thing that we can assure you regarding this car is its longevity and reliability; after all, it’s a JDM Toyota.

Features:

  • Two airbags
  • VSA + ABS + TC
  • Very good fuel average
  • Extremely reliable
  • Quick resale
  • Interior still looks up-to-date

Suggested pricing: 22 lacs to 28 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Mitsubishi Lancer (2004-2006)

Lancer is a mid-size sedan car. It’s a robustly constructed JDM hit, but unlike Toyota and Suzuki JDMs, Lancer couldn’t make its space in the Pakistani automotive market. Despite its high-quality build, extremely smooth ride, and features-packed offering, it still has bad resale value.

The culprits are the parts’ availability and pricing. Mitsubishi is not officially available in Pakistan. Hence, it affects the value of the vehicle in the used market as well parts of this car are still very expensive as compared to other Japanese cars of the same league.

However, if you don’t care about the resale, Lancer could be a great option to consider. Its interior still looks acceptable, and you get power steering, power windows, extremely smooth drive quality, and an engine that produces 120 HP of power.

Features:

  • Powerful 120 HP engine
  • Power steering and power windows
  • Interior still looks fresh
  • Very smooth driving quality
  • Extremely durable car

Suggested pricing: 14 lacs to 19 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Honda Civic Reborn (2012)

We already mentioned the Reborn in our previous 20 lacs budget blog, but that was the old model, i.e., 2009. The one we’re talking about is the 2012 model, which will be in good condition and non-accidented.

The 8th generation Civic, also known as the Reborn, is the millennials’ iconic loved car. The looks were sporty, the interior was way ahead of its time and it had the highest power output in the league, making it the most loved car by youth of that time.

Still, in 2024, it’s a good used car under 30 lacs. Not 30 lacs, precisely; you will find it easily in under 25 lacs budget in good condition and non-accidented body. The only problem with this car is its fuel average, which is 8-10 Km/l, the lowest in its league. The spare parts of Reborn are also expensive compared to Corolla 9th generation and City 5th generation. Other than that, the resale is very good, and the drive quality is superb, so it can be a good VFM used car under 30 lacs.

Features:

  • 1800cc powerful engine, 95-140 HP on stock
  • Strong AC performance
  • Sunroof on an upper variant (you might find that variant in the 20 lacs budget after some negotiation)
  • Good boot space
  • Power windows and power steering
  • Auto lock on specific speed
  • Two airbags
  • Being a 19-year-old car, the interior still looks up to date.

Price suggested: 21 lacs to 25 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Toyota Corolla 10th Generation

Corolla’s 10th generation was mostly bought by corporate people and people who wanted a simple sedan car that was reliable and didn’t demand much maintenance. In terms of reliability, no other vehicle in this review can beat it. The interior space and legroom of the car is also fine; the interior design might look outdated, but the stereo and built quality are up to the mark.

The GLi variant has power steering and power windows, while the XLi has manual windows and no wooden trim on the center console. Thanks to its VVTi technology, the fuel average of this generation Corolla ranges from 12-13 Km/l, and the AC performance is good even in July and August.

Features:

  • Spacious interior and large boot
  • Power windows and power steering in GLi
  • Wooden finish on GLi and upper variants
  • Extremely reliable engine and solid built quality
  • Quick resale

Suggested pricing: 22 lacs to 27 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Local Suzuki WagonR (2018-2021)

Suzuki WagonR, the national car of our ride-hailing services. It is also the first choice for middle-class families who are looking for a low-cost car with good durability and affordable parts prices. The comfortability and drive quality is also fine for the price. On the interior side, it’s simple and plain. Of course, what do you expect from Suzuki’s budget hatchback?

But the headroom and front legroom is very generous, thanks to its wagon-style design. It uses a 1000cc EFI engine that can give you a fuel economy of 14-17 Km/l in the city. The boot space is unfortunately very low and can only fit one large-size traveling bag and one handy bag.

Features:

  • Easy-to-find parts and affordable pricing
  • Low running cost
  • Easy to maintain and very reliable car
  • Quick resale
  • Easy to find mechanics

Suggest pricing: 21 lacs to 27.5 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)

Suzuki Cultus 2nd Generation

Just like WagonR, Cultus is also a middle-class hatchback by Pak Suzuki, but a generation upgrade from WagonR. Its exterior, drive quality, and features are better and improved than those of WagonR. It uses a 1000cc EFI engine with a fuel average of 12-16 Km/l. The upper trims also offer ABS, alloys, two airbags, fog lights, and even power side mirrors. It’s a Suzuki, so you’ll get a very strong dealership network and on-the-spot parts availability. The interior space and legroom are adequate for a 5ft 8-inch person, and the boot space is enough for two large luggage bags. If you want a reliable and easy-to-maintain hatchback but don’t like the exterior design and shape of WagonR, Cultus could be a good used car under 30 lacs.

Features:

  • ABS + alloys + 2 airbags
  • Fog lights
  • Good exterior design
  • Adequate boot space for a hatchback
  • Reliable engine

Suggested pricing: 24-30 lacs (depends on your negotiation skills as well)
