Petrol Price in Pakistan – January 22 vs. December 22

The year 2022 is ending, as just a couple of days are left, and 2023 is upon us. 2022 has been a difficult time for Pakistan’s auto industry due to several issues. Likewise, the petrol price in Pakistan in 2022 has remained a serious concern for consumers as the fuel prices reached a record high this year. The prices of petroleum prices were mainly impacted due to the Russia-Ukraine war, which shot up the rates, making the everyday life of common people, especially in developing countries, difficult.

Petrol Price in Pakistan – January 2022 vs. December 2022

If we look at the prices of all petroleum goods, we will see that petrol used to cost Rs. Rs.144.82/liter compared to Rs.214.8/liter from December 16, 2022. It means the price has seen a jump of Rs. 69.98/liter in the last 12 months. Then we have High-Speed Diesel (HSD) which used to cost Rs.141.62/liter on January 1, 2022, against the current Rs.227.8/liter, meaning the price jump for this product is Rs. 86.18/liter.

The third product is Light Speed Diesel (LDO) which used to cost Rs.111.21/liter at the start of the year, while its current price is Rs. Rs.169/liter, observing an increase of Rs. 57.79. Lastly, there is Kerosene Oil and its price on January 1, 2022, was Rs.113.48/liter, but now it costs Rs. Rs.171.83/liter, showing a jump of Rs. 58.83/liter.

Hopefully, the petrol price in Pakistan will go further down as the global prices of crude oil are coming down. The cost of petrol is directly linked to the daily lives of the people, and expensive petrol means inflation in every sector, including food and regular accessories.     i would expect a better research and new founding to improve the fuel consumption.
