Rev in Mountains – Sarfaranga Rally is Around the Corner

The heat will be high in the cold desert of Skardu as the PakWheels Sarfaranga Rally is just around the corner. The mountains of the north are going to be home to two and four-wheeler beasts, conquering the sand and rock-covered track, testing the suspensions, and tossing the sand in the air with their wheels. The mega event will be held from October 6 to 8, 2023, where top rally drivers from across the country will come to test their driving skills, nerves, and physical strength.

This is the 5th edition of the race, and over 100 drivers will take part in it, making it a success like the previous ones.

Event Details 

The event will open on October 6 at 9 am in the Cold Desert, followed by a technical inspection and qualifying round on October 7 from 8 am. The race day will be held on October 8 from 8 am. Meanwhile, the build day is October 6 from 12 am to 7 pm.

Along with the car race, there is going to be a bike race and multiple events by the locals, including the parade, martial arts, and local dance. The top officials of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) will attend the opening ceremony along with local talent. The Sarfaranga Rally 2022 was held after a gap of three years due to COVID-19 and proved to be a huge success.

Sarfaranga Rally 2022

Last year’s Sarfaranga Rally was a hit, and the winner of Category-A Prepared was Shoaib Malik, who completed the track in 48 minutes, 27 seconds. Rab Nawaz Joiya, who finished the race in 56 minutes and 48 seconds, won the Category-B Prepared. Zohair Ali Farooq won the Category C-Prepared by finishing the track in 1 hour, 1 minute, and 10 seconds.

The winner of this D-Category Prepared was Taj Khan Mahar, who crossed the finishing line in 57 minutes and 24 seconds. Furthermore, Adeel Ahmed clinched Category A-Stock after completing the race in 51 minutes and 42 seconds. Meanwhile, Sultan Bahadur Aziz was declared the winner of Category B-Stock after finishing the race in 57 minutes and 39 seconds.

The top position at the podium in Category C-Stock was grabbed by Shahzad Satti, who finished the race in 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 34 seconds. Falak Sher Balouch was declared the winner of Category-D Stock as he finished the race in 58 minutes and 55 seconds.

Last but not least, Sajida Hassan won the Women-Stock Category after completing the race in 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 35 seconds.
