National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will formally inaugurate the Abdul Hakeem – Khanewal section of Motorway M-4 on Sunday, 27th October 2019.

According to the details, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been invited to inaugurate the section mentioned above of Motorway M4. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Shamkot Interchange, Khanewal. The ceremony will be attended by MNA Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, Chairman Prime Minister’s inspection committee Ahmad Yar Haraj and party ticket holders of the area. The route will be opened for the general traffic, and it will facilitate thousands of commuters of the adjoining areas as well. The official inauguration letter is attached below:

On the other hand, the National Highway Authority (NHA) is also hopeful that it will inaugurate the Multan-Sukkur Motorway M-5 soon. However, the toll rates of this Motorway were announced a few days ago. The total toll rate for traveling between Multan and Sukkur is set at Rs.680 for passenger cars. The announcement of toll rates also indicates that M-5 will also be opened for the public soon. The complete list of toll rates on M-5 is as under:

The opening of these routes will connect South Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan with reduced distances.

Moreover, it will also play an essential role in promoting economic activities in the country. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has also laid stress on completing the existing projects so that new projects can be launched for the facilitation of the public across the country. It is also worthy to mention here that those using M2 will have access to use M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Multan, which is 286 km long route. Furthermore, the commuters can access M-5 from Multan, all the way to Sukkur, which is 392 km Motorway. The other sections of M-4, including Faisalabad to Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, Shorkot, and Abdul Hakeem, were already operational, and now the completion of Abdul Hakeem to Khanewal section will connect the route to Multan which is already open for traffic. There are a total of three interchanges in the Abdul Hakeem-Khanewal section, including Dinpur, Makhdoompur, and Kabirwala. The construction work on the dual carriageway of M-4 was already complete. Only the toll plazas and interchanges were being constructed. It’s undoubtedly great news for the commuters of this route as it will provide them with secure traveling facilities with a considerable reduction in travel time.
