Based on the latest news being circulated on various television channels, Excise, Taxation, & Narcotics Control Department, Government of the Punjab has proposed the following:
- Abolishing of token, toll and transfer taxes on cars
- Rs.1 to be charged on each litre of petrol/gasoline
This is being done to raise revenues and provide relief to the people. The government aims to raise Rs.12 billion through these measures. The government had been earning Rs.9 billion previously.
