Honda Civic 2019 Facelift Launched in Pakistan

All the rumors have finally been put to rest – Honda Atlas has officially unveiled the all “new” Civic at an event held at Royal Palm Lahore on 9th April 2019.

The facelift model of Honda Civic was always coming to Pakistan. The auto manufacturer further strengthened the news with its social media campaign named “Better Buckle Up”. The teaser video went viral on social media in the past few days.  Honda Atlas is currently producing the 10th generation of Honda Civic in Pakistan which was introduced back in July 2016. Ever since its launch, it has been a success story for the auto manufacturer as it lifted the dipping sales during the 9th generation of the model. The 10th generation Honda Civic is now almost 3 years old which makes the introduction of a facelift model, much-anticipated move in the market.

Honda Civic is available in the local market under three variants i.e. 1.8L i-VTEC CVT, 1.8L i-VTEC CVT Oriel and 1.5L i-VTEC CVT Turbo.

Let’s talk about the upcoming changes:

Honda Civic 1.8L i-VTEC CVT:

The base model of Honda Civic is already equipped with a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine mated with CVT transmission. The facelift model will get the only addition of “Cruise Control” to the luxury car which is already present in its high-end Oriel variant. Rest of the car will remain as it is under the same specifications. It’s currently priced at Rs.3.199 million (ex-factory).

Honda Civic 1.8L i-VTEC CVT Oriel:

This particular variant will get the most out of Honda’s Better Buckle Up teaser. As indicated by the company’s campaign, Honda Civic Oriel will now feature LED headlights which is a welcome addition to the car. Besides, this variant will also be equipped with LED fog lights and new design of alloy wheels. The look of the front and rear bumper of the 1.8-litre sedan will be enhanced with the addition of a chrome strip. Honda’s infamous shark fin antenna will also find its place in the facelift model of Civic. This variant currently comes at a price tag of Rs.3.399 million (ex-factory).

HONDA CIVIC RS 1.5 TURBO

The Honda Civic Turbo 1.5 VTEC CVT variant in the Civic series is reportedly getting a new Engine Control Monitor (ECM). Other than that, there will be some exterior and interior changes, including RS monogram on front and rear, black interior theme, LED headlights, LED fog lights, chrome strip on the front and rear bumpers, shark Fin Antenna, sporty trunk spoiler with LED, dark chrome outer handles, and more.

The newly updated variant will have 17 inches new alloy wheels and a trunk cover. And this variant will now be available with an additional option of modular kit. So, now the Honda Civic RS Turbo will be available as “normal” Turbo and Turbo with a modular kit.

This variant currently comes at a price tag of Rs.3.799 million (ex-factory).

Price of facelift model?

The price of the facelift model of Honda Civic, however, remains the point of conversation. If we go a few days back when the automaker increased the prices of its Honda City and BR-V by up to Rs.85, 000 which came into effect from 1st April; the company retained the price of Honda Civic with a statement of announcing it later. So, the idea must have been increasing the price once the facelift model is introduced in the market.

And the prices have finally been increased. In the case of 1.8 CVT, the previous price was Rs.3.134 million; 1.8 CVT Oriel was Rs.3.299 million and of the Turbo variant was Rs.3.505 million.

Another important aspect here is that the government’s intentions to withdraw the implemented 10% FED on vehicles of 1700 cc and above engine displacement is still in effect. No official withdrawal notification has been issued yet in this regard. So, if you are planning to book the facelift version of Honda Civic, make sure to add 10% FED on the price of the car.

Reportedly, the booking of facelift Honda Civic has already started with Rs.1.2 million. The delivery of the cars will be made in July 2019.
