Today we’re back with another episode of the owner’s review featuring Momina Sibtain’s Hyundai Tucson. Momina is a recognized fashion and lifestyle journalist with a YouTube channel named Momina’s Mixed Plate, and in this video, she shares her own experience with this Korean crossover.

Hyundai Nishat launched the Tucson in Pakistan in 2020 in 2 variants, a low-spec FWD and the top-spec AWD variant. This particular car is the AWD variant which comes with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine producing around 154hp and 196Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This is the same engine in the Kia Sportage, which also shares many other features with the Tucson.

Purchase Decision

Initially, the owner wanted to buy the BMW X1, but upon advice from friends and even the staff at the BMW dealership, she shifted her consideration towards the local options, which included the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and the MG HS.

She disregarded the Sportage purely because of its mediocre interior design, and as per the owner,” it was not aesthetically pleasing.” She also considered the HS but thought it was too tacky and felt like a “ Cheap Sports Car. “ She opted for the Tucson because of its elegant looks and the added features it had over the Sportage.

Salient Features

The Tucson offers a list of features that include a panoramic roof which the owner really enjoys, a wireless charger, electric leather seats, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, dual-zone climate control, push start, a floating instrument cluster, cruise control, LED headlights with cornering lights as well. Safety features include 2 airbags, ABS brakes, traction control, EBD, etc.

Fuel Average

The AWD variant of Tucson is comparatively worse than the FWD in terms of fuel average. The owner gets an average of 9 to 10 km/l within the city without driving aggressively and gets around 12 km/l on highways.

Head Unit

The Infotainment screen plays an important role in Tucson’s interior aesthetically, and it forms the center of navigating many car features. The owner seems to really like it in terms of looks and also enjoys the large size. Despite that, as in most cars, the microphone quality for calls is mediocre, causing poor audibility.

Maintenance

The owner maintains the car from the company dealership, and the routine maintenance, which includes oil and filter, costs more than normal cars. Parts’ prices are also relatively high, but they are readily available. As per the owner,” This is an expensive car to maintain.”
