Srinagar, the picturesque capital of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), observed a groundbreaking event on Sunday as it hosted its inaugural Formula 4 car racing demonstration. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the world-renowned Dal Lake, the event brought together locals and motorsport enthusiasts for a day filled with action and excitement.

Professional Formula 4 drivers took center stage, showcasing their skills and expertise with exhilarating stunts that left the audience in awe. The sleek racing cars roared along a 1.7 km track, stretching from Lalit Ghat on the banks of Dal Lake to Nehru Park in the heart of the city.

Hundreds of enthusiastic youths gathered along the picturesque Boulevard Road, nestled at the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range, to witness this historic spectacle.
Organized by the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India, in affiliation with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the event aimed not only to promote tourism in the region but also to inspire local youth to explore motorsports as a viable career path. It marked a significant milestone for Srinagar, highlighting its emergence as a hub for motorsports in the region.
Also, the arrangements were made to ensure the success and safety of the event, which commenced at 10 AM and concluded at 2PM. From surface levelling to pothole repair, barricade installation, and the deployment of medical and security teams, every detail was meticulously planned. Drone surveillance enhanced security measures, facilitating efficient event management and ensuring the safety of spectators and participants throughout the Formula 4 race.
The collaboration between Formula 4 and the Indian Racing League, under the auspices of the Tourism Department, underscored Kashmir’s growing prominence in the motorsports arena. Beyond the thrill of speed and competition, the event symbolized resilience, delivering a powerful message of adventure and determination to all those in attendance.
