As expected, Peugeot Pakistan has also increased the Peugeot 2008 price. In a social media post, the company shared the updated prices of two variants of crossover SUV. The post read in light of the Sales Tax rate increase from 17% to 18%, these are the updated Peugeot 2008 prices.
New Price of Peugeot 2008
Here are the new prices of both variants.
- The new price of Peugeot 2008 Active variant is Rs. 5,959,000 compared to Rs. 5,899,000. Means, it has observed a hike of Rs. 51,000.
- Meanwhile, the Peugeot 2008 Allure variant will now cost Rs. 6,656,000 instead of Rs. 6599,000. This variant observed an increase of Rs. 57,000.
This is the second price hike by the company within a month. In the last increase on January 31, the company jacked up the rates by Rs. 499,000. As mentioned earlier, this fresh price hike wave comes after the government increased by GST by 1% under mini-budget. The government took the step to fulfil International Monetary Fund (IMF’s) conditions to receive the next instalment of loan.
The auto industry is very unstable for last couple of years due to increase rate of US dollar against rupee, ban on imports, increase in freight charges and last but not least, no LCs by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). These issues has led to non-production days in the auto industry, while a latest report revealed that over 250,000 people have lost their jobs in the industry.
