Mehran has always been a symbol of affordability in Pakistan. Though always chosen as a family commuter, this four-wheeler is repeatedly modified in different ways. We recently reviewed a 2001 model pink Mehran with features astonishingly accommodated in this mini hatchback.
Purchase Decision
Awais arrived at PakWheels Auto Show-Lahore from Sargodgha in his Suzuki Mehran. Its striking pink colour made it one of the attractions of the event. He purchased it from Lahore for Rs. 365,000 and invested every inch of his sweat to modify it. Inspired by a Honda Civic Reborn motivated him to convert this hatchback into a similar version of the Reborn.
Modifications
Best thing about this project was it was wholesomely prepared at home by Awais and his elder brother. Since the car was bought in stock condition, there was room for improvement. Awais modified its bumpers, fenders, headlights, rear lamps, and fog lamps. He left the bumpers and front grille in stock condition however changed the fender arches.
A new spoiler with brake light was embedded at the back and 15-inch rims were put in. Although it came with a 12-inch rim Awais put all his efforts to accommodate bigger-sized rims. Also, its suspension was modified and the car was further lowered.
The Pink Wrap
Previously it was in silver, and Awais asked one of his friends to DIY a pink-colour wrap. Undoubtedly, this catchy shade changed the overall look of the Suzuki Mehran.
This modification shows, how much Pakistanis love their cars and invest time in their maintenance and upgradation.
It is amazing that even after five years since it was discontinued the car continues to resurface in a surprisingly unimaginable manners.
